How to FTP into a Student Account
To FTP into your student web
account:
1. Make sure you have an active network account, i.e. you can login to a lab computer.
2. Make sure you have a web directory. Instructions on creating a web directory.
3. Download or if already installed, use an FTP, File Transmission Protocol, program to transfer your files on the the FC server.
Run the program, you will see the following screen (example uses WS-FTP LE): Click New and fill the textboxes with the appropriate information. Host Name/Address: type STUDENTxWWW.FULLCOLL.EDU, where x is the last digit of your student ID number. User ID: use your lab login id prepended with "fc\" For example - fc\999999 ** IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO USE A BACKSPACE "\" AND NOT A FORWARD SLASH "/" AFTER "FC" Password: use your lab login password.

4. Once your username and password are verified, you will be able to transfer files from your home computer to the FC server by selecting the file you want to send to the server and clicking on the arrow to the right, "->". The FTP program will verify that the transfer was successful or not.


5. To view your pages, open a web browser, Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, and type the url in the address textbox.
